• Hospitals, nursing homes, creches
• Large retail and assembly buildings and other buildings with rooms likely to be used by more than 50 persons who are not long-term occupants of such rooms
• Office buildings more than 12 m in height
• Residential buildings more than 4 storeys high,
• Certain types of industrial buildings, including buildings with high fire load density and buildings with risk of explosion
• large underground and enclosed car parks
• Tunnels exceeding 100 min length
